Time is precious.

We can’t keep them, but we can spend them.

One day I was sitting at my grandpa’s shop and suddenly he spoke to me and said What you say in English is that Time is Money right? From there I got curious about why time is money, and how we compare them.

Often, whether unconsciously or consciously, we say “Time is money”, but have you ever wondered why it is so? Take a moment and think. OK let’s compare them, and prove.

History

Time Is Money is an aphorism that originated in “Advice to a Young Tradesman”, an essay by Benjamin Franklin that appeared in George Fisher’s 1748 book, The American Instructor: or Young Man’s Best Companion, in which Franklin wrote, “Remember that time is money.”

Why is Time Money?

Time and money have three things in common: Save, Spend, and Donate. Eh, how do we donate Time? You can find out how you can donate time by reading until the end of this article.

Save

Yes, we can save money, but how are we saving time? Yes, we do. By not doing anything useless and investing time in something beneficial, such as saving money. A suitable example would be if you save time by doing nothing instead of engaging in toxic conversation or backbiting, being entertained by a movie, being alone in a room thinking of your business, self-improvement, your product, writing love letters and the same applies to money.

There is no doubt whatsoever about the fact that we are doing it, literally. The more we avoid subscribing to a pathetic news channel or paper, the less we smoke, vape, indulge in any unhealthy addiction, or gamble, and the less we buy useless things, the more we save. Time is Money.

Spend

Time is something you can’t keep, but you can spend it. The same applies to money. Occasionally, after saving money, you will spend it. We spend money on healthy food, traveling, and family time just like we invest time in good. As time passes, the cost of time increases and the cost of money also increases. Ten years ago you could buy a toffee for 1 rupee today that toffee costs 5 rupees, so invest- use your money and time well. Time is Money.

Donate

As we finally arrive here, let’s start by asking why we donate. For blessings right? It is like spending money in the sense that we are spending time helping someone who is in need of our help, not our money. We can help a community, a family member, a friend who needs our help, etc. Many times we’ve heard that I don’t need your money, I need your time, and the same person needs money also. Time is Money.

There are two more characteristics: problem and management. Most of our problems are about money or time. We’re always thinking that if we have enough time we’ll have fun or resolve this matter. If we have enough money, we’ll overcome what’s at stake.

We enjoy life and solve problems by managing time and money. Money solves money problems, which gives you a certain degree of freedom in life, but time trumps it. Time can resolve many issues that cannot be resolved with anything. For example, we can use the time to build enough money, after which money can work for us. We can do our hobbies, and learn new things like languages. We can evaluate new things, read more books, articles, and blogs, create videos, write blogs, and build products.

We can’t have time and money together. If we have time, we don’t have money, and if we have money we have no free time.

If you have both, give thanks first to the creator and second to your parents who sacrificed their time and money for you, so you can have both of them.

Time and money are like twin brothers

You can’t keep time, but you can spend it.
