In an age where our smartphones are constant companions, I found myself falling into the trap of endless scrolling and screen time. But here’s how I broke free from mobile addiction and got hooked on books and insightful content.

Daily Challenge Reading vs. Short Videos

Instead of mindlessly watching short videos (Reels, shorts, etc.), I set a daily task for myself: read a page of a book or a blog. It started small, but the impact was huge. Within days, I noticed a remarkable drop in my screen time — from 5–6 hours down to just 2.

Optimizing Information Consumption

We can’t escape the abundance of information around us, but we can control how we consume it. Reading daily helped me optimize my content consumption. I began to ask a crucial question: Is this content truly useful to my life? If yes, then how can I implement it?

Turning Insights into Action

What I discovered was that short videos or reels often provided valuable insights. However, it was up to me to take action on those insights. After watching content related to life hacks, tech tips, or financial advice, I made it a habit to immediately dive into further research or put those ideas into practice.

This approach not only reduced my screen time but also made the content I consumed incredibly valuable. It became a catalyst for positive change in my life.

So, if you’re looking to cut down on screen time, consider setting a daily reading goal and asking yourself how the content you consume can be put to use. The journey to breaking free from mobile addiction might just lead you to a world of knowledge and personal growth.
